To the firefighters of Streator, Il. Thank you for the fine job that you gentlemen are doing to help the citizens of our community. It takes very special persons to do the job that you are doing. I know that I wouldn’t be able to handle the extreme pressure that you guys are under while fighting a fire. I have a nephew on the force in Bloomington, Il. and i have heard some very sad stories of things that happen to people involved in fires. I wish each and everyone of you the best of luck in your profession. Darlene Washington

Thank you firefighters for being here for us, if it wasn’t you in here, I don’t know how this world will be. I am also proud of my father, he was a hero to me, he served as a firefighter for 14 years. One day as it was a routine for him going to work and save other peoples lives. He saved three innocent children and risking his life, after he has done his job, he was rushed to the hospital, for being seriously burned . After a while, he passed away leaving my mother with the children. I know how it is to have a father that is a firefighter, as I am praying and continue praying for you. God Bless You!!!

Two firefighters just lost their lives Sunday (August 30th, 2009) at 2:30 pm, trying to contain California’s wildfires (which we seem to have every single year). They lost their lives trying to protect the people of California; their homes, and prized possessions. And these two firefighters aren’t the only ones who risked their lives- there are thousands more doing so right this minute. Please join me in thanking these wonderful people by making this week “Thank A Firefighter Week”. I have made a group on Facebook, and would love it if you joined and invited all your friends!

Thank you guys for your brave and life altering efforts to save the lives of the hundreds of people you risk your life for every year! thank you so much! you are like our brave troops in iraq, you are just as courageous and brave as any of them. you risk it all to save lives!!!

your risks are many
your lives are few
i want to take the time to thank you

for the risks you take
the choices you make
you lay your lives on the line
to keep our lives safe and fine

you charge through the fire
and then you go higher
you save that little girl
who has been trapped
in a fiery whirl

you keep her safe
through the fire you strafe
you get to the bottom floor
then you go back up the stairs for more

you keep families together
you save daughters, sons and fathers
you quench the tears of worried mothers
for these reasons i thank you all

because you are willing to take the fall

You help people you don’t even know
that’s the way you show
you care for this nation
you are the aid staion

you risk for the many
to keep our nation running
by the support of a many
to save sommeone from the burning

you have few lives
but your hearts are bigger than any
you have saved to many
for all you do is strive

for this I thank you

I would like to say thank you to all of the firefighters that there are. Without you there would be tons more fires and the fires would basically burn most of te world. So THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you firefighter!!
Everything you guys do saves others and betters the community and our lifes. You have a very risky job yet you go back everyday ready for more. You amaze me by your strength, guts, and ability to be who you are.

i would like to thank you for all your hard word. around town and around the country. a lot of people don’t realize how hard your job is. but i sorta have a feeling, because my dad was a firefighter and every time he would be out all night i would be terrified and praying he would be safe. so be safe and i highly appreciate what your doing.
