Give yourself the permission to be somewhat irritable and let others know what you are going through. I told my co-workers and my students about my challenge and everyone was so helpful and encouaraging. They were also forgiving when I was sharp or impatient with them. If you like to walk...it really helps to get in 30 minutes or so a day. I played solitaire like crazy at first and wrote letters and kept my mind on the positive side of quitting. You can do it. I also kept a journal and my list of reasons why I quit in my purse so I could look at them daily.
