He is so courageous, and seemingly fearless in the face of so much adversity. I don’t know if I would have a fraction of his strength if I were in his place. He inspires me to never give up, no matter what odds may be against me, no matter what monsters may lurk around the corner. The world is truly a better place for having Hunter in it, no matter how brief his time may be here on this earth. Your beautiful little family has been an inspiration to everyone who has heard your story. I can’t begin to imagine the pain you are going through and I know that there are no words that will ease your pain. I want you both to know that if you have done anything these past three years you have proven the power of love. Your love is what gave Hunter his strength, love is what made your family what it is, love is what gave you so much joy despite all your suffering. You both have proven how strong your love is for your son and for each other. You are amazing, there should be a new word invented for how strong you are. You are one little boy who is so loved by his mom and dad. You are lucky, blessed to have this love. Some children never see any of this, even when they live to be 100! But, you've had more love and kisses and hugs in 2 1/2 years..they'll last you forever! I know your parents will be celebrating having you in their lives today with more bites to your little neck, and snuggles to your little chest, pinching of your little cheeks...you have a lot of love coming to you from all over the universe, and I hope this gives you strength to keep on being strong. Who would have ever guessed that a little boy like you would be able to do things that some grown ups can't even do??? YOU are my superhero! ANd I only believe in heroes that are real. It is no coincidence that I am reading this blog as my daughter is texting me that her best friend lost their house and can she stay with us. Please keep us posted on how Jody's passion is translating into action. The afterschool program I run on the Oregon border in California has been looking for youth to support out of our area...I will be taking Jody's story to our youth leaders tomorrow. I am also proud of my father, he was a hero to me, he served as a firefighter for 14 years. One day as it was a routine for him going to work and save other peoples lives. He saved three innocent children and risking his life, after he has done his job, he was rushed to the hospital, for being seriously burned . After a while, he passed away leaving my mother with the children. I know how it is to have a father that is a firefighter, as I am praying and continue praying for you. God Bless You!!! -Special thanks for Brad, Emory, Jimmy Montero, and some other friends of mine, thinking of you everyday.
