EMM Raises Money For Roosevelt Elementary

On Monday, June 9th, we “partied with a purpose” to raise money for Roosevelt Elementary School in Los Angeles.  Like nearly 80% of schools in America, Roosevelt has struggled to maintain any arts programs for the kids.  And budget cuts for education are not getting any smaller.  So we decided to help.

We brought in students from Ms. Wechselberger and Ms. King’s 2nd and 3rd grade classes to show off their painting skills in the afternoon.  Then, that evening we had an art auction, with all the proceeds going towards art supplies for Roosevelt.  Ria Ray, a local artist had a blast inspiring the kids with their paintings.  You will definitely see how inspired they were.

Addtionally, artist Edwin Bethea painted live during the 3 hour auction event and we auctioned his painting for the grand finale.  Besides the thousands of dollars we raised, we think the expressions on the kid’s faces show just how successful the day was.

Thanks go out to Writers Boot Camp, Hope Wine, Tecate Beer, Hansen’s Natural Soda, EBOOST Energy Drink, Ria Ray, Edwin Bethea, Temy Johnson, Jay Dawg Brown and everyone else who made this event so special.  Now enjoy the pics.
