Campaign: Firefighter Letters

Fire Fighter Letter Campaign

Over 1.5 million fires where started this year. Some very newsworthy, including the South Idaho, California, New Mexico and Nevada wildfires. And with the rainy season beginning mudslides will begin to occur in some of the fire areas as the terrain as been altered. Our firefighters will again support and rescue people and their animals.

Write a note of gratitude to an anonymous firefighter and their family. We will take your posted note and hand-write it out on a “You Matter to Me” postcard and send it to the fire stations most impacted by this year’s fires.

Add your letter below.

    Hello

I am guilty of taking for granted that the fire fighters and fire department will be there when I need them and that nothing is required of me for that privilege.

I want you to know that I am very grateful that you are there and that you so freely give your services when we, the community, needs them. Thank you for being there for my family and for me.

When an emergency arises you are the first persons we want around us…then family and friends. That you for being the first responders and making sure we have the best emergency services on planet earth.

You are the best and I appreciate YOU.

    Thank you,
    Nelda

    Thanks!

  4. Alexis says:

A firefighter needs to meet many requirements, and we all know that these are very difficult to meet. A firefighter has to put their lives on their line to save other people, which is something I know I am not willing to do. I can’t fatham the braveness that firfighters have.
    Thank You.

  5. Emma says:

Firefighters have one of the toughest jobs in the world, and unless you’ve been through a fire, you don’t always think too much about what we’d do without them. I’ve been one of those fortunate ones, but I want to take the time today to say thanks for being willing to put your life on the line for other people. You guys are real heroes.

    Stay safe,
    Emma

  6. Ericka Palmer says:

You rush in when everyone else wants out. You tear down walls to get to people in harm’s way when many spend most of their lives building walls between themselves and others and only hurt themselves. You understand how important it is to get that fire out as soon as possible, and hopefully preserve what few mementos of family heritage and precious pictures– what really matters in life. Your sacrifice, your willingness to go into the unknown because of the person on the other side is heroic. Thank you for your service and example.

I just want to say that we all appreciate everything you do to keep us safe, whether its fighting wildfires in Montecito or accompanying paramedics to rescue calls in Isla Vista. Growing up in California, wildfire season has always been a part of my life. As a kid, I’d watch in awe as firefighters rushed toward forest fires and building infernos without hesitation. I thought they were super heroes that had no fear. As an adult, my opinion hasn’t changed. Thank you for your bravery, selflessness and honor.

    Sincerely,
    Melinda

As a student living in the area of California that is always ravaged with wildfires, I want to send a shoutout of thanks to the firefighters that have always been my superheroes. You guys are amazing! You face what a lot of people fear without a thought for yourselves. California firefighters saved my college campus from being burned to the ground! Not only that, but you guys (and gals) are on the scenes of accidents, helping people trapped in vehicles and putting out vehicle fires. Thank-you SO much for what you do. Praying for you guys always!

  31. Amanda Steele says:

Hello, My name is Amanda Steele. I want to tell all you firefighters out there thank you for your work. I know that it is the easiest in life. but you all risk your lives everyday to save someone. The fire department in my area has helped me so much. I delivered my daughter and they were there, If no one would have been there i would have had to burry my daughter.. Thnak you to Dewayne and Lake. O owe you my life. It was amazing. Then you all turn around six months later and put out a house fire the very house my daughter was born in. Thank you to all of you who helped.

  32. Marge says:

    Hi Firefighter,
I think you are an amazing person. You work so hard everyday just to save others. You are one of the most selfless people in the world. How can we ever thank you enough for doing a job that most of us do not have the guts for, or at least, a job that I do not have the guts for. Each day you come to work you come focused and ready. How many of us can say that of ourselves? Not many, I’ll tell you that. Bottom line: I am really proud that there are such amazing people in our world!
    Thank you a ton,

  34. Nicole says:

    Dear Firefighter,

First and foremost I would like to THANK YOU for what you do every single day. I am guilty of taking you for granted. I, like most people am also guilty of the next two things. My first thought is “oh, that will never happen to me” and my second is “well, if it were to happen then there is someone (like you) to fix it.”

I could not begin to imagine what it feels like every single day to leave your family at home and run into a house that is burning down to save a family like mine. You matter-and you make such a traumatic difference each and every single day.

Thank You for risking your life to save lives like mine, and my children.

  35. Nicole Gebeke says:
