HEALING HUNTER – THE POWER OF POSITIVE WORDS

This news comes with a heavy heart, but we feel it is something we need and want to share with our EMM family. Hunter needs us.
Most of you remember little Hunter. Hunter was diagnosed with AML Leukemia when he was just a newborn. If you recall, our very first Los Angeles book signing was also a “Party with a Purpose” for Hunter and another beautiful girl named Brittany, both stricken with cancer. You came out and showed your support for these two children and you touched a lot of people’s hearts in doing so.
In September, Hunter celebrated his 2nd birthday and seemed to be victorious in his battle with cancer. Sadly, we were just informed today that his battle continues as his cancer has relapsed. Doctors have determined that 45% of his bone marrow has been infected with Leukemia.
In an email, his mom wrote:
We are asking everyone to think and feel and send as much love and energy our way that you possibly can. I believe it truly helps in the healing process. We are frightened to death, but confident he’ll get through this. The statistics state that he has a 56% chance of surviving and there is not a reason in the world that Hunter isn’t going to be one that survives! He’s a fighter.

Lenore, Zen and Hunter, You are all in my thoughts and I know that Hunter will be in the 56 percentile for positive recovery. When it’s difficult to stay strong, remember how many people are praying and thinking of you. We are giving you that extra boost of strength.
I will pray for you…You will make it through this and be stronger for it. No one deserves to go through this, especially a child…
My heart goes out to Hunter, Lenore & Zen. Hunter hang in their little one. I pray that Hunter has the strength to win this battle with cancer and that he sucks in all the love you shower on him and that he will gain strength in knowing his parents love him. There is a reason God gave you this beautiful gift . . . don’t give up hope and keep your faith in God the Almighty. I will continue praying for all of you.

I remember getting my pictures done with Zen before Hunter was born. I just remember how beautiful Lenore looked, and I thought what a lucky baby to have two such wonderful parents! Well, now I see that they are also blessed to have such a beautiful boy! I fast on Mondays, and I have been doing a lot of healing prayers on that day. My focus will be Zen, Lenore, and Hunter this Monday. I am sending you all of my love, and all of my HOPE!
I often wonder why things like this happen. Why the young and innocent suffer. Why, if we claim to believe in a just God things like this happen. Then I’m reminded of that verse that says it rains on both the good and evil, the just and unjust. Hunter, I may not know why you are going through this, but this I can promise. God Almighty, in His infinite love and mercy, will see you through this. I will pray for you, and back up what Kathleen says. You will be caught or you will learn to fly. Peace and love I leave you with.
My son’s name is also Hunter, so this really caught my eye, just by the name. I am saddened to hear that Hunter’s battle is continuing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, especially little Hunter. May God give him strength and health.

We used to be rommates at CHLA and you have inspired us in many ways. Our daughter Natalie made it through the transplant and we’re praying and hoping
that you will be ok as well. Our hearts go out to Lenore and Zen, you both are
amazing people and you both are so courageous and strong! You will overcome this
despite the challenges. We made it through the BMT and Natalie is doing well now.

As a mother of a 14 month old and a 2 year old only a month or so older than Hunter, I am heartbroken for all of your struggles.
