Nashville Goes EMM

Doug & Kim of “Your Family Friendly Morning Show” (94FM The Fish is Nashville) showed Nashville firefighters of Engine Co. 17B that Mondays matter by showing up with lunch for all of the firefighters.  “It was a blast,” said Kim, “but you sure have to eat fast.”  During their short visit, they were surprised by 3 different alarms.

“It was an enlightening experience,” added Doug.  “Firefighters pay for the firehouse’s cable and their food during their 24-hour shifts. And, many firefighters have a second job to pay the bills.”

We had the pleasure of being interviewed by Doug & Kim when we were out in Nashville.  They are amazing people, and are obviously making a big impact on their community.

“After our interview with Matt and Kelly, we decided to pick 10 Mondays from the book and put them into action by sharing them with our listeners,” said Kim.  “Some of our Monday activities were to write a note of gratitude, show your smile, mentor a child, and plant a tree.  I’ve honestly looked forward to sharing and doing these activities each and every Monday.  This book is really awesome.  I just hope we were able to help influence and spread the word about it.”
