What did you do on Earth Day?
April 27, 2009
Unfortunately, Earth Day can sometimes be like Valentine’s Day. You know…that one day of the year where people feel they “have” to be nice to their loved one. Card companies, florists, and chocolatiers love it, but maybe we miss the point. It shouldn’t take Valentine’s Day, much like it shouldn’t take Earth Day.
But, being that it was Earth Day, we figure we should ask what you did for our beloved planet.
Rideshare? Plant a tree? Use canvas shopping bags? Pick up litter? Start a recycling program? We want to know. Please share below.

I usually donate used books to my public library but would rather give them to low-income families. Can you suggest where I can take them so they will reach these families?
Thank you
I had my Brownie troop help at a booth at the Modesto Earth Day celebration. We did games but also asked each child that came to the booth what they were doing to help the planet. We have discussed ways to save electricity & water, the importance of natural resources and recycling during our troop meetings. They are starting a recycling program as well for the troop. I hope this will start a whole new generation to start caring for the Earth.
